Admissions Procedures for Credit Programs

Step 1: Admissions
All new students must submit an official application form to the Admissions Office or apply online at www.my.cecil.edu.
An Application for Admission can be downloaded below: Admissions Application
Application Insert - List of Programs

Forward any ACT, SAT, AP and CLEP scores to:
Cecil College Admissions Office
One Seahawk Drive
North East, MD 21901

Students transferring from another institution must submit an official transcript from each college attended. An unofficial transcript can be used for advising purposes if the official transcript is not yet on file in the Registration Office.

Students enrolled at another college who wish to take classes at Cecil College for transfer back to their home institution are not required to present an official transcript. However, transcripts will serve as documentation to waive the required skills assessment.

Step 2: Apply for Financial Aid, if needed
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. Federal processing takes four to six weeks, so students should apply early at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Step 3: Academic Skills Assessment
Complete skills assessments for proficiency in English, reading and mathematics prior to your first registration. Students may take the College's skills assessments, forward ACT or SAT score reports to the Admissions Office, or bring them to the office at the time of enrollment. Assessment results are used to place students in appropriate courses, not for determining eligibility for admission to the College.

Step 4: Academic Advising and Registration
All credit students entering Cecil College are assigned to an advisor who will work with them to plot and achieve their academic goals.

Step 5: Payment of Tuition
The Cashier's Office will accept payment of tuition and fees. Payment arrangements must be made the same day as the registration takes place.

Step 6: Attend New Student Orientation
Students should plan to attend the day or evening new student orientation session the week before the traditional fall and spring semesters. There will be information sessions on study skills, faculty expectations, student services, student life, and more. A campus tour is also available.
