We can help
The Cecil College Foundation, Inc. raises funds to support student programs
and activities at Cecil. Each year the Foundation offers financial support to Cecil
Community College students through existing scholarship funds established by the generosity
of our donors. Awards range in size from one hundred dollars to full tuition and fees.
Two types of scholarships
There are two types of scholarships available for Cecil students through the Cecil
Foundation: merit-based and need-based. Merit-based scholarships are awarded on the
basis of grade point average (GPA) and not on a student's ability to pay for their
education. Most merit-based scholarships require a GPA of 3.0 or better. Need-based
scholarships are awarded on the basis of a student's need for financial assistance in
order to attend Cecil College. To obtain one of these grants, students must
complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form available
in the Student Development office.
How do I apply?
On-line applications must be completed through Cecil Foundation's website between January 1 -
March 1 each year for consideration for fall and spring scholarship support for the following
academic year.
All scholarship applicants will be notified by the Cecil Foundation office by mid-April regarding the outcome of their scholarship application. Students receiving a scholarship are asked to visit the Foundation office to complete the scholarship process.
Students interested in applying for a Cecil Foundation scholarship should apply on-line.
