Cecil County Commissioners Scholarship for June’s High School Graduates

Selection Criteria:
Program: Recipient must be enrolled in a certificate or degree program at Cecil
Enrollment: Recipient must be enrolled full-time (12-15 credits) per semester at Cecil
GPA: Recipient must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 (B); must maintain a 2.0 GPA out of 4.0 to continue scholarship each semester

North East Rotary Club Endowed Scholarship

Selection Criteria:
Program: No requirement.
Enrollment: No requirement
GPA: 2.5 out of a 4.0 GPA to receive the scholarship and to retain the scholarship
Residency: First priority to students residing in Cecil County with priority to graduates of North East High School.

Oxford Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship

Program: Must be majoring in the Nursing Program at Cecil

Residency: Applicant must reside in Cecil or Kent County
Financial Need: No requirement.
Note: Recipient will agree to provide an internship for a minimum of 8 hours per month per semester at the Cecil-Kent Health Services facility working with the physicians.
Note: Must graduate with an Associate’s degree in Nursing or a full refund of the scholarship will be expected.

American Legion Mason-Dixon Post #194, Inc.College Nurses Training Scholarship Fund

Selection Criteria:
Program: Recipient must be majoring in the Nursing Program at Cecil
Enrollment: No requirement.
GPA: Recipient must have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 to be eligible for continuation of the scholarship beyond the first semester
Residency: Recipient must reside in Cecil County
Financial Need: Must demonstrate financial need by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) available in the office of financial aid
Other: Recipients that have demonstrated willingness to participate in, or have a history of participation in, American Legion activities will receive special consideration fro this award. Scholarship recipients may be asked to attend American Legion Unit Auxiliary #194 meetings to discuss their experience at Cecil and to meet Club members and answer any questions the members may have.

The Ronald A. Sexton Memorial Scholarship Fund

Selection Criteria:
Program: Must be enrolled in a credit or non-credit allied health program at Cecil
Enrollment: Must be a full-time student as defined by the program in which the student is enrolled
GPA: Must have and maintain a 3.0 out of 4.0 GPA or equivalent measure to receive additional funding in subsequent semesters
Residency: Must be a resident of Cecil County, Maryland

Other: Must demonstrate leadership skills and community service
Other: First award preference will go to a graduating high school senior from a Cecil county-based school. If there are no qualified applicants using this standard, the scholarship may be awarded to a non-traditional student who meets the above criteria

TMA of Chester County Scholarship

Selection Criteria:
Program: The student should be enrolled in programs provided as part of the Mid-Atlantic Transportation and Logistics Institute (MATLI).
Enrollment: The recipient must be enrolled in at least two (2) courses during the semester in which funds are dispersed. Preference is given to recipients who are expected to transfer to a four-year program upon completion of the MATLI requirements.
GPA: Preference should be given to students with either a 3.0 GPA in their current collegiate program or, for incoming students, a 3.0 GPA from their high school transcripts.
Residency: The first preference is that the recipient should be a resident of Chester County, Pennsylvania. If there is o suitable candidate that meets this criterion, then the scholarship can be directed to a student from any residency.
Financial Need: No requirement.
Other: This is a merit-based scholarship.
