The Career Resource Center, located in room 303 in Elkton Station, provides students, alumni, and the community with assistance in all aspects of career planning. The Resource Center contains information about occupations, job searching, college majors, career development, resume writing, interview skills, and career trends. Students can work in the Career Resource Center with a career advisor to meet their educational and career planning needs. Computers are available in the Resource Center to help students with their career planning needs. The career advisor is also available to assist students who are unsure of their career plans or college majors. We have various resources to assist you:
- Cecil College and Career Planning System - This program allows you to gain valuable information about various careers and educational opportunities available to you. You can use the system to help you pick a major, or search for a college. You can also complete your resume and find a job. Contact your advisor to assist you with the system and with your college and career planning needs.
- Job Placement - Do you need a job? Do you need help developing a resumé or preparing for an interview? Career Services can help you with all aspects of your job search and help you to connect with local employers. Contact the Career Services office at 410-287-1000 to meet with a career advisor.
- College Central Network - available to students, employers and alumni. Students and alumni may post resumes and search for jobs. Employers may post jobs and search student resumes.
- Career Research - You will need information about various careers in order to make decisions. What majors are required for certain careers? What salary could you expect to make? What is the employment outlook for a specific career or job? Career Services can assist you with finding the answers to your questions.
- Individual and Group Career Advising - The career advisor is available to meet with you to discuss your career planning needs and to help you make a plan. To make an appointment with the career advisor, please call 410-287-1000.
- Career Workshops - Workshops are held on topics such as "How do I pick my major?" as well as resumé writing, interview skills, and job search techniques. Dates and times will be announced during the semester.
