The Role of Disability Support Services:
1. To provide arrangements for reasonable accommodations to qualified students with documented disabilities.
2. To provides DSS counselors on each campus to work with students to determine appropriate accommodations and arrange support services.
3. To assist the College in complying with the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
4. Stresses the development of self-advocacy and self-determination skills.
5. To Maintain and protect the confidentiality of student records as required by law.
6. To assist the College community in understanding the effects of disabilities and to eliminate the physical, technical and attitudinal barriers that limit the range of opportunities for students with disabilities.

Services Available:
1. Assistance with admission, course selection and registration.
Interpretation and maintenance of students' confidential documentation of disability.
2. Tutors
3. Authorization of accommodations based on documentation of disability.
4. Assistance with classroom accommodations such as note takers, readers, scribes and sign language interpreters.
5. Arrangement for recorded texts through Recordings for the Blind and Dyslexic (RFBD).
6. Accommodation letters and liaison with faculty to arrange accommodations.
7. Arrangements for examinations, such as extended time or distraction-free environment.
8. Assistive technology including computers with disability-specific software and hardware.
9. Document conversion to alternative formats.
10. Liaison with external agencies such as the Division of Rehabilitative Services (DORS).
