Program Description: Nursing Assistants working in Maryland
long-term care facilities have a unique opportunity for advancement by becoming a Certified
Medicine Aide. This program will provide individuals who meet specific licensing and
experiential requirements with instruction on proper dispensing of medicines. Upon
completion, students will have training and in-class laboratory practice concerning the
techniques, principles and procedures for safe administration of non-parenteral medications.
Requirements:
- Current CNA/GNA license
- One year of long-term care experience
- Letter of recommendation from Director of Nursing
