Program Description: This program provides students with basic
medical knowledge along with the medical coding procedures used to bill insurance companies
and to track health conditions and diseases for reporting purposes. Additionally, the program
prepares students to pass the certification exam of the American Association of Professional
Coders (AAPC). Coder certification provides better job opportunities at higher salaries.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Basic skills assessment in math and English (minimum 9th grade level)
- Basic computer skills assessment (open/close program and be able to use keyboard)
