Program Description: The Phlebotomy Certificate Program
prepares you for a job as a phlebotomist in a hospital or medical lab. The four courses
of this program will train you to perform and practice basic phlebotomy procedures, use
a computer in your daily work, understand the expectations of an employer in your newly
chosen field, and search for and locate a job in today’s healthcare industry. At the
conclusion of the program, you will also be eligible for national certification as a
phlebotomist through the International Academy of Phlebotomy Sciences (IAPS).
Requirements:
- Medical Terminology recommended but not required.
- Immunization Record (PPD, MMR and Hepatitus B)
- Proof of health insurance or medical expense waiver
Miscellaneous Information:
Upon successful completion of this program, students will have an opportunity to take the
certification examination to become certified through the International Association of
Phlebotomy Science. The College offers a review class just prior to the examination date.
