Cecil College provides transfer information designed to assists students in making an easy transition into a four-year baccalaureate institution. The college understands that each student situation is different and therefore encourages all students to meet with an academic advisor to determine the appropriate program of study or course selection that meets each individual needs. The college has also entered into formalized articulation agreements with public four-year institutions throughout the state of Maryland and the region, to further expedite the transfer process. Articulation agreements provide course equivalency agreements and/or program to program transfer agreements, which minimize the risk of losing college credits when transferring to another institution.
The college's Transfer Advisor is responsible for maintaining college/university resources (catalogs, brochures, applications, etc.), organizing transfer planning informational workshops and hosting college transfer fairs that allow students to meet face-to-face with college representatives. The Transfer Advisor also utilizes ARTSYS, an interactive online articulation and transfer credit database that contains information about the transferability of community college credits into four-year institutions within the state of Maryland. ARTSYS is operated and maintained by the University System of Maryland.
