Cecil College establishes the DeMaris Family Foundation Scholarship
Published on January 25, 2022
NORTH EAST, Md. – Cecil College is proud to announce the creation of the DeMaris Family Foundation Scholarship.
This endowed scholarship fund is designed to help students fulfill their dream of completing their associate degree at Cecil College. In particular, it is geared toward students who are in the truest financial need accompanied by a positive drive and potential for success. Students can be nominated for this scholarship by a professor or college staff member who sees the genuine student needs, abilities, and prospects.
This generous opportunity was created by Brian F. DeMaris, who attended Woodstown High School (Woodstown, N.J.) and the SUNY Cobleskill in New York State, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering – Power and Machinery. Having also attended the University of Wisconsin, Franklin & Marshall College, and Salem Community College, DeMaris understands the significance of completing a degree.
His career spanned 22 years working for New Holland Farm Machinery before leading New Holland Concrete for eight years as president. He went on to start a manufacturing company specializing in both landscaping and fitness equipment.
The inspiration for this scholarship derives from the DeMaris philosophy that the youth, and how they are supported and coached, steer the outcome of our world.
