Cecil creates seamless transfer to Stevenson University

NORTH EAST, Md. – Cecil College is excited to announce the finalization of an academic articulation agreement with Stevenson University, creating a seamless transition for students into the baccalaureate program. This agreement facilitates the transfer of academic credits from the associate degree in business administration from Cecil College for the completion of the bachelor’s degree in accounting at Stevenson University.
“This transfer agreement is a particularly good opportunity for our students since they can commute easily given the close proximity to Cecil County or they can opt to reside at Stevenson to have the full on-campus experience,” said Dean of Arts, Humanities and Commerce Jon Esser.
To qualify for this articulation, students must have completed their associate degree in business administration at Cecil College. They must be in good standing academically, maintained a GPA of 2.5 or better, and completed all the steps for admissions at Stevenson University. Stevenson recently instituted a general education block transfer policy, so Cecil College students who follow this agreement will not have to take any additional general education courses once they enroll at Stevenson.
Stevenson University will accept up to 70 credits from Cecil College, or up to 90 credits applied to degree requirements from a combination of a two-year institution, a four-year institution, and non-direct classroom instruction. This agreement will be reviewed every two years to ensure compliance with academic standards and alignment of course curricula.
Stevenson University is a private institution located in Baltimore County with campuses located in Stevenson and Owings Mills. Founded in 1947 as Villa Julie College, the institution changed to Stevenson University in 2008 to reflect its expanded mission and breadth of academic offerings. Serving 3,600 undergraduate and graduate students, the university offers 31 undergraduate degree programs along with 30 online master’s, bachelor’s, and certificate programs for working adults.
