Goldwater exhibit at Elkton Station Gallery

Published on March 14, 2025

This is an image of Margarette Goldwater's "Carnival Man Mask," which features an ornate, decorative mask with intricate detailing, covering a person's face. The mask is predominantly gold with elaborate filigree patterns and small embellishments, including red accents and gemstones. It covers the upper half of the face, and the eye openings are deep black, adding a dramatic contrast. Surrounding the mask are vibrant, fiery orange and red feather-like textures that create a vivid and dynamic backdrop. Black curved elements interweave with the feathers, adding depth and complexity to the composition. The background is blurred with warm tones, suggesting lights or reflections, enhancing the theatrical and mysterious atmosphere of the image.
