NORTH EAST, Md. – Members of the Cecil County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 2 have demonstrated their dedication to training the next generation of law enforcement officers through the creation of a new scholarship at Cecil College.

The planning of this new scholarship has been in the process for more than a year. FOP Lodge No. 2’s past president Michael S. Zack, Second Vice President Charles Dix and Treasurer Michael O’Donnell met with the Cecil College Foundation last month to finalize the details of the scholarship.

The Cecil County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #2 Scholarship provides an opportunity for Cecil College students to pursue an associate degree in Criminal Justice. Through the awarding of two $500 annual scholarships, it is the hope of the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office to recruit interested, qualified and Cecil College educated students to join their efforts in protecting and serving Cecil County upon graduation.

The Cecil County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #2 is the representing authority for the sworn men and women of all the law enforcement agencies in Cecil County. The organization represents its members in contract negotiations, member services, and support to ensure the best equipment, training, and most professional deputies are protecting Cecil County and its residents.
