Accounting & Bookkeeping
QuickBooks Certification will prepare you to become a QuickBooks Certified User. Instruction covers setting up charts of accounts, reconcile checking accounts, create and print invoices, receipts and statements, track account payables, and inventory. Once the course is completed, the student can take the QuickBooks Certified User Exam. The course consists of 10 sessions totaling 30 hours.
Environmental Health & Safety
Environmental health practitioners are dedicated to protecting the public health by monitoring and recommending solutions to reduce pollution levels. With our ever-growing population and the health challenges that we face on a day-to-day basis, the employment outlook is very favorable for individuals wanting a career in environmental health.
Offered in partnership with the Maryland Center for Environmental Training (MCET), water and wastewater trainings vary each semester. Please check with a program specialist for details.
Home Inspection
The Home Inspection Pre-License Training program is designed for individuals pursuing entry level career training in Home Inspection and provides instruction on how to complete an inspection of all the systems and technical areas of a residential home. This program will prepare students to take the National Home Inspector Examination.
Insurance Help Desk Professional
The Insurance Help Desk Professional program trains students to be well-versed and knowledgeable in the insurance field so they are able to provide customers with an exceptional help desk experience. Students gain theory and practical experience in the areas of consultancy, customer service, front-line underwriting, quotations, claims, and agency management systems, which transfer to high growth career and entrepreneurial opportunities. The courses follow a remote synchronous learning model delivered by the National Association of Insurance Professionals (NAIP). Coursework prepares students to sit for Maryland state licensing exams in Property and Casualty and/or Life, Accident and Health specializations.
Microsoft Office

Enhance your skills with training in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and become more marketable in the workplace.
Microsoft Excel Essentials pinpoints the various tools and skills needed to use Microsoft Excel. The course covers formatting, how to create and maintain tables and charts, and functions, pivot tables and working with multiple worksheets. This course consists of 5 sessions totaling 10 hours.
Microsoft Word Essentials covers the various tools and skills needed to develop themes, move text, customize headers and footers, apply styles, and change margins. This course consists of 3 sessions totaling 6 hours.
Microsoft PowerPoint Essentials identifies and covers the various tools and skills needed to use Microsoft PowerPoint. Students will learn techniques for presentations, incorporating and editing video clips, creating custom logos, developing themes, and complex animation. This course consists of 3 sessions totaling 6 hours.
Real Estate
Real estate can be a great career for those who have the entrepreneurial drive to forge their own way and control their own professional destiny.
Pre-License Training explores the basic concepts of real estate law, ownership, transfers of property, the closing process, brokerage, contracts, listing agreements and laws. This will prepare students to sit for the Maryland Real Estate Commission Certification Exam. This course consists of 20 sessions totaling 60 hours.
Voice Over Careers
Getting Paid to Talk will introduce you to the growing field of voice over. Instructions will be given as to what the professionals look for, and how to prepare, and where to find work in your area. As part of this course, the student will be able to record a short professional script under the direction of the instructor. This course consists of 1 session totaling 2.5 hours.
