Ways to Vote
Vote by Mail (Mail-in Ballot)
Any registered voter may vote by mail-in ballot. You don't need a reason to vote by mail-in ballot. It's another way to vote if you don't want to or can't go to an early voting center or your polling place. Request your mail-in ballot from the State Board of Elections. Mail your ballot in a designated ballot drop box by 8pm November 5, 2024. Track your ballot online. Get more information on mail-in voting or request a mail-in ballot.
In-Person Early Voting
Bring acceptable proof of residency and photo ID.* You can vote early at any early voting center in the county you live in on Thursday, October 24 through Thursday, October 31 (including Saturday and Sunday), 7:00 am – 8:00 pm.
In-Person Vote on Election Day
On election day—Tuesday, November 5, 2024—you must vote at your assigned polling place and bring acceptable proof of residency and photo ID.* All election day polling places are open continuously from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm. Anyone in line at 8:00 pm will be allowed to vote. See the steps on how to vote in person.
Accessible Voting
Maryland is committed to making voting accessible to all voters. All the voting centers in Maryland are accessible to voters with disabilities. Learn more about voting in-person or by mail-in ballot.
* | Acceptable Proof of Residency and Photo ID: MVA-issued license, permit, ID card, or change of address card, or your paycheck, bank statement, utility bill, or other government document with your name and new address. |
